International Department Convenes Expatriate and Chinese Teachers Joint Meeting
国际部:At 9:30am on the 24th of February 2013, during the Lantern Festival, all international and some Chinese teachers of the International Department assembled in the audiovisual room on the first floor of the library to attend the new term orientation meeting organized by the school Vice Principal Jiang Hongxia.
At the meeting, Principal Jiang firstly expressed her warm wishes for the festival and welcomed both the return of old teachers and the arrival of new teachers. She then introduced the arrangements of regular workshops and demonstration classes during the coming term.
As a member of Cambridge International Centre, Baicui has achieved great success in international education. Principal Jiang mentioned the benefits of being one of the CIE and introduced the related CIE examination arrangements in the new term. Having a long and accomplished experience in teaching herself, she shared some useful teaching resources and encouraged all the staff to develop their professional competence. Principal Jiang said, teachers should continuously develop themselves, improve their own professional abilities; should be committed and help one another, open their hearts to the whole international team and share ideas; should be autonomous and maintain professional standards.
Furthermore, Principal Jiang emphasized teachers’ responsibilities and detailed the work requirements of the coming term. She pointed out the importance of teachers recording students’ daily performance and writing their final reports by school deadlines. She also specified the standards of daily class teaching, saying that there should be clear evidence showing teachers’ full preparation, the need for scientific and clear objectives, necessary revision and warming up and presentation of new knowledge. She stated the importance of sufficient activities to consolidate new knowledge and differentiated activities or assignments. Principal Jiang asked all the teachers to be punctual and patient, to cater to students' individual needs and to teach at various levels of student proficiency.
After the meeting finished, all the teachers were eager to set high standards for the coming school term. Everyone is determined to accomplish new results and acquire even more brilliant achievements.
